THE PANTHEON OF MINECRAFTIA
~*~
Upon the first creation of Minecraftia, Many stood in the name of "Creator" of the entire world, but in reality, it was delegated to specific dimensions that were tied to the land itself.
The Overworld, in reality being a planet among a galaxy of other planets, was cultivated and created by The God of Life, G'Reth, who was also put in charge of caring for the land. The initial creation of the land was facilitated by G'Reth, and from its base, grew an ancient civilization of people who conquered the land, working with it and constructing great cities, now only being known as "Ancient Cities". These people would be known as the Elysians, and are typically referred to as the source of all people in Minecraftia. Their influence was wide, and their control was immense.
Upon the deployment of the Wardens and the Ender-Man by the space-farers, the land was thrown into chaos. G'reth, attempting to resolve the imminent danger of the Wardens corrupting the entire land, banished the Ancient Cities to the bottom of the world, and thus, the Wardens with them.
The end on the other hand, was created by the Goddess of Death, Aneajus. Being in charge of creating a suitable place for the Elysians to rest post-mortem, she created a simple land, where the souls could wander, and be one with the stars. There, they could rebuild and be at peace. To guard the gateway was a fierce dragon, named Jean. She protected the egg, and the central island, ensuring that worthy souls would find their way back to the Overworld.
The third and final land that was created upon the creation of Minecraftia was the Nether. Originally intended to be a place of punishment, overlooked by the God of Entropy, Godith, it was an unforgiving and unimaginably hot place. Through its time, were groups of trapped souls, piglin societies growing out of the pain and hatred of the nether, and Wither Skeletons guarding the Nether Fortresses, being puppets of the Blazes, and instructed to kill piglins on site, only the worst of the worst were sent to the nether post-mortem, being judged by the God of Entropy himself.
As eons passed, however, tides changed. Godith felt slighted by the assignment of grand punisher, and sought to spite his siblings, sneaking into the Overworld, and creating the ancient race of space-farers that would leave technological vaults, instructing them to plant their vaults in as many planets as they could, as "a precaution".
This move caused the arrival of the Ender-Man and the Warden in the overworld, along with all of the vaults. From then on, an evil deed was planned.
While Aneajus was communing with the Elysians through the Strongholds, Godith would navigate his way into the End, and corrupt the Ender Dragon. This corruption caused Jean to start consuming the souls of the fallen Elysians, and changing the landscape of The End, turning it into a descolate wasteland. Meanwhile, the Ender-Man, catching the Elysians communing with their God, entered their sacred portal, moving their corruption into the End.
This corruption controted the souls of the Elysians, forcing whoever wasnt already consumed by the ender dragon to be transformed into Shulkers, eternal protectors of the End Cities that were taken over by the Ender-Men.
After Godith's influence on the Ender Dragon, he focused on his own world, after it had already fallen to ruin after wars between the piglins and blazes tore apart the nether, Godith had time to re-build the nether, turn it into a paradise of his own ideals. Even if it was forever infernal, he could still create his own overworld there...
Which leaves us to today. The ender dragon, corrupted beyond recognition, closed the end portal, removing Aneajus from her land and forcing her to the overworld, G'reth attempting to bring balance back to the land and settle with the grand scale of waves that were made through Corc, and Godith, tending to his garden, the Nether, knowing that nobody is the wiser...
The main group of valleytown, who plunged their way through Elysium's communal chambers, and slayed the dragon are the only few who have made it far enough to even see the dragon, let along damage her.... We will see if this has any ramifications.
WORSHIPPER'S CUSTOMS
The people of Minecraftia tend to lean more towards theism, due to the more direct influence that the gods have on the land and the people as a whole. However, these practices differ from one another, due to their connection to the gods. We will be going through the three primary gods, and their commonplace practices that are applied by their worshppers and preists...
G'reth, the God of Life & the Overworld.G'reth, while being the god of Life, spends most of his time on his realm in which he resides in, that being the Overworld.
People who tend to praise the God of Life do so in order to gain favor towards their crops, towards protection of their village, or in some circumstances, towards fertility. While those are the main things that people would pray to G'reth for, most people, if they pray at all, find themselves praying for protection, in a similar way that people would say "god help me" on Earth. They even go as far to extrapolate certain beliefs to be that G'reth is in charge of everything, meing mono-theistic. This is not commonplace, however it is something to be noted.
People who praise G'reth tend to engulf themselves in the land in which G'reth has created, either being farmers, explorers, or low-tech village preists. This praise ends up culminating in the creation of what is known coloquially as a "cave house"; a house that has been dug into and buried inside of the wall of a mountain or cliffside. These houses are due to the belief that G'reth resides in a far-off land full of sheer vertical walls and holes called "The Farlands", creating his kingdom in there. This belief has culminated in people taking pilgrimiges to these illusive "Farlands", those who perish on the pilgrimage being granted a second chance at life by G'reth, allowing the soul the chance to commune with the God of life himself before being re-spawned in a place of their choosing.
People of this faith typically refer to the act of being born as "spawning", as it has grown in popularity since preists of the time started adapting it into formal writing. These formal works are not commonplace, but they are out there, some people refer to them as "The book of Life", depicting the changes and morphs in which the land has taken since the book has started.
Godith, the God of Entropy and the NetherPeople who reside in the overworld dont typically find themselves praising the god of the nether on a daily basis as they would G'reth, however, that does not mean that Godith doesnt get any praise.
As the God of Entropy, Godith is an agent of change. He is typically tasked with looking over the Nether, a perpetually destroyed, at war, and overall chaotic realm. People who reside in the overworld that end up praising Godith do so for the means of hoping that he will interveine and enact that change in which they so desire. Wether it is political, social, or interpersonal, people would leave offerings in nether portals, hoping that he would take them.
People also tend to sacrifice others or themselves to Godith, hoping for some change, or for something to be done about a problem they had. Almost all of these go completely unanswered.
The primary group in which Godith gets most of his prayers and praise from are the Piglins and Blazes, who reside in the fortresses and basions in his realm. Due to this, most of Godith's time has been spent in attempting to build up the Nether, giving piglins more to explore, helping the ghasts, and overall improving the realm as a whole. Many piglins can recall the early days of the Nether, being told from generation to generation, where they spent their time praying to Godith that they would survive for longer, and eventually being able to create the basions with Godith's help.
Out of the three gods, Godith is the most likely to act on prayers directly, giving a helping hand to those in need who resides in his realm. Due to this, some consider him to be the most caring God out of the three.
Aneajus, the Goddess of DeathPeople who worship the Goddess of Death find themselves typically on the delivering end of a lot of death themselves. Serial killers, hired muscle, assassins, career killers, mercenaries, guards, the like akin to that find themselves typically performing rituals prior to a kill, to send their soul to the End to possibly gain favor with Aneajus and possibly gain a boon from her. It should be noted that successful mercenaries and assassins would find themselves typically gaining a boon of vitality, or in some extreme cases, where the people would find themselves given temporary protection from death by Aneajus. These assassins led very long lives, retiring upon gaining the boon, and becoming preists in her name.
Due to Aneajus' realm being dedicated to the preservation and redistribution of souls, she would find herself moving between all three realms, collecting her mana back in her realm, and using that mana in the other worlds for her abilities to transport anywhere and change size to commune with others. During this time, she does show up to prayers, akin to Godith, but she typially avoids doing anything direct. She shows up to funerals who pray to her, hense her form being seen as that of a "grim reaper" to commonfolk.
Prior to valleytown's involvement in Aneajus' realm, there were no mortals that were ever allowed in the end. The only souls that were allowed there were passed souls of greate heroes and leaders, and those who were prayed for. This was picked up after Aneajus previously serviced the entirety of Elysium, carrying their souls to the end, where it eventually became their final resting place, along with the final resting place for all of Elysium.
After valleytown freed the end, however, Aneajus became free to roam the realms as she pleased, being able to serve all of minecraftia, with valleytown having the main cathedral to her, that being the cathedral of pride.
