THE TECHNOLOGY OF MINECRAFTIA

~*~

Technology has been a fundamental part of the growth of kingdoms since the discovery of the blue flame'd vault by General Withers and Queen Amanda IVth. From land-to-air transport, to bio-engineering, to automating and perfecting the farms that were previously set up, to the forms of power distribution that these pieces of technology find themselves with, this page will explain the intricasies and the differences in the types of technology that you will find upon entering this world.

CHAPTER 1- POWER DISTRIBUTION.

~*~

Upon the discovery of the vault by the armies of Corc, the people were not only introduced to the technology, but they were given access to a power bank and a fusion reactor, giving them almost limitless energy for whatever they would require.

When the scientists of Corc were introduced to the vault, and studied the technology that made it, they found a wireless form of energy distribution that allowed them to have energy anywhere in Minecraftia.

The main requirement for far-off towns to have access to this power, however, is more akin to a giant radio tower, in our day, than it is an automatic thing, it requires much maintinence, but the eventual payoff is something that's worth the pain of setting one up.

CHAPTER 2- TRANSPORTATION

~*~

The Dynasty, and its surrounding territories within the tech-null barrier, utilize many different kinds of transportation in order to make their way around the vast areas of Minecraftia that have been conquered by Corc. From land-to-air ships, coloquially called "Vults", to repulsorcraft, to very niche forms of teleportation, depending on who you ask, there are countless possibilities for making your way around the districts and the world.

REPULSORCRAFT

Repulsor craft were the first kinds of faster transportation after the great vault was discovered, being quick and easy to construct from cheaper materials, it functioned by creating a negative field of gravity around the machine, which neutralized the effects of gravity for its user. being only possible in large structures at first, it was eventually slimmed down into what we know now as "The Cyberhorse"

"The cyberhorse was originally - and stands to be today - one of the easiest forms of travel to get your appendiges on. Being relatively cheap, not requiring much maintinence, and being overall faster than most kinds of cart, glider, or land-to-air machine, these powerhouses are the first choice of anyone that wants to find themselves a reliable machine." -quote from Ceum Airships, the leading provider of the Cyberhorse.

While most of the statements about the cyberhorse are true, it is also a very popular vehicle among mercenary groups, due to the ease of disassembly, and its jailbreak potential, which when suped up with wind barriers, prove to be more akin to speeders or missiles, by modern day standards.

In Valleytown, Ealain has gotten her hands on a few of the cyberhose models, one being her personal speeder that she has installed r0x on, and one or two others for the members of Valleytown.

Other repulsorcraft are rarer, but there are rumors of suits that have repulsor technology built into it, allowing the user to fly freely, albeit only for a short amount of time due to the heat that is generated by it.

Due to the inexpensive nature of the repulsor technology, many people have been experimenting with different forms of repulsor technology, wether its projectiles that never drop, suits that allow the user to fly, boots that prevent any kind of impact damage, or even monitoring drones, used by the king's guard in order to find criminals easier. The possibility of repulsor technology is limitless.

LAND-TO-AIR CRAFT

Land to air craft (referred to in universe as Vults* [short for vultures]) are very simple flying ships, usually used as pop-up shops or for black market shops. These vults are usually propelled around by a mix of repulsor technology, and components that are similar to modern day jet engines, creating a large cloud of dust upon ejection.

Old generations of vults are very box-like, either being just a rectangle or higher end old vults being multiple squares connected in different ways. Usually farmers use these older models, due to the reliability of the craft and the ease of access for the parts. These old box ships are also good for the purpose of bulk transportation, having stronger jets, and sturdier legs, these models sacrifice the ability to move on the ground and the speed that newer vults have for the reliable and strong structure of the old models.

The newer generations of vults, ever since the original beetle vult, have started to have landing gears akin to insects, being called “bug vults”, for their rounder flatter shape and their insect-like landing gears. Not only being sleeker than the average ship, but having the added bonus of the new repulsor technology, along with global mapping and positioning programs, it allows the user of the newer vults to fly faster, farther, and occasionally without ever having to touch the controls, depending on how expensive they want to go.

Other kinds of land-to-air craft are not as popular, due to the average group of people being able to comfortably fit in a smaller vult without much squeezing, but they do exist. Examples of these have been sketched up and theorized by Ceum, and some have been produced by outside creators, due to their sheer size.

*Sketch of a concept ship, named the "G-class Rubicon 36-c"

*sketch of a concept ship named "the puncher v1", to be created by Ceum

The concept of a land-to-air ship that can survive in space has been conceptualized by some groups, but due to lack of demand for such a device, along with the general lack of knowledge of space as a whole, it is currently not being explored by much of anyone inside of Corc.

Due to the versitility of land-to-air ships and their ability to walk along the ground, the concept of worker ships that can latch onto the walls and repair them is not only conceptualized, but is also in production by Ceum, being able to not only repair the walls, but giving the king's guard's ships the ability to latch onto other ships.

LAND TO AIR SHIP COMBAT

Due to the inefficient nature of projectiles, and the challenge that land-to-air ships pose in the manner of criminals, the King's guard's ships are equipped with not only latching mechanisms onto the gear of their ships, but the abdomen of their ships are loaded with dangerous liquids and chemicals that they inject into the hulls of opposing ships, after latching onto them, typically disabling the ship, but more frequently than not, causes the entire crew in the opposing ship to be neutralized if they do not care for it immideately.

This has lead to counter-measures being created by members of the black market, larger top-hulls in order to prevent piercing, pipes that would be stuck into the end of the stinger, that would neutralize and plug up the stinger, causing it to explode, or even some ships that were custom-built for combat, specializing in this latch-and-pierce method of combat that the king's guard has created. There are also rumors that groups of dogfight-esque vult groups that specialize in creating crew-killers, but they are hard to find, due to the illusive nature of the ships.

CHAPTER 3- BIO-ENGINEERING

~*~

Bio-Engineering is something that, for the common man in Minecraftia, is mostly myth. People assume that things that ARE bioengineered are just real (see: the dragons that work in the dynasty, enderman, wardens, creaking), or are so early in its infancy its too dangerous to actually work reliably (see: gene editing, body modifications, protogens)

Most people that know enough about bioengineering to actually do something about it works for one of the big industries (blue flame medical, the mining faction i forgot the name of), or are part of the scientific team under the crown. at least in Corc, that's the case.

All of the scientists at the time of the de-vaulting found the original schematics for bio-engineering, and hid it away. kept it secret, due to it being in a very literal sense, taking matter and giving it life. They did not want to alter the will of the Gods, or even risk angering G'reth (god of overworld)

As time has gone on, we have learned more and more about how they work, especially with the discovery of the vault, and that has lead to Corc being the forefront of not only all other kinds of tech, but secretly being on the forefront of bio-engineering too.

Back before Corc's campaign on them, Elysium was the leader of bio-engineering, creating their own bio-engineered machines, called the Creaking. Originally meant as guard statues, after the fall of Elysium, they were scattered accross Minecraftia, being planted in and creating the Pale Gardens, due to the ease of access to wood.

However, during the fall of Elysium, The Mining Collective was secretly forming its own Bio-Engineering program, labelled "Project Draconis" based off of the technology that they had bought access to from the king in order to cement themselves in the annals of histor by developing giant mechanical dragons, ones that did not question, did not ask, but worked. The dragons that were created out of it, while unknown to the public on how they properly work other than being real living dragons, were created using some of the more advanced technology that was hidden away as soon as its benefits were found. Public perception of Corc was convinced by The Mining Collective that created them that the king himself tamed these wild beasts, and that they were living in the mountains, under our noses, scared of being slaugtered like the others like them.

Not only did this cause a panic in the defectors of Corc, but it gave the public a vision of the king that was divine compared to previous rulers, being able to tame three entire beasts of ruin to be under his command. These dragons were then used to tear down and harvest resources from the Didean Mountains, greatly increasing the production power of the builders and wall mechanics of Corc as a whole.

As a job from outside Corc, a group of mercenaries, later to be known as

The Order of the Red Dragon

Were tasked with sending a message to the mega-companies of merchants that have exploded since the fall of Elysium and the introduction of the Dragons, and with the use of a highjacked guard ship, was able to mount one of the great dragons, and destroy her, not knowing themselves that the dragons were bio-engineered.

Upon falling the dragon, they were faced with the truth of the dragons, having rudimentary bio-engineering, not ever being intended to be seen up close, these mercenaries, Ealain included in this group, came face to face with the with the hasty interior wiring and haphazard panelling that filled the guts of the beast that they have fallen. It was agreed that they would keep the secret of the dragons within the ranks of the mercenaries, taking a chunk of the android flesh for their base.

Other than the great dragons, not much is known about the bio-engineering that goes on in Corc, according to the general public. Other than the formulation of new life with wires and simulated scales and flesh, Corc has an underbelly of secretive bio-engineering, known as "genetic modification"

For the most part, there were very few groups that were interested in the trade of genetic modification, that being the blue flame medical group, and the black market, due to its ability to completely wipe someones DNA and re-write it.

Even if it is a popular - but dangerous - practice that a lot of the members of the black market partake in, they are very fond of gene splicing, being the only real place you can go out of your way to be someone different. Due to the openly tabboo nature of the black market, you can find yourself a lot more well equipped to make yourself more desireable opposed to the church. One avenue of Gene splicing is found to be with common animals, creating the beastfolk, a group of beings that is feared among the masses, only seen as the beastfolk of legend (rumors of man-beasts that were fairytale), and are typically reserved for those who need to start anew, but some find solace in beast folk.

These beast folk, even if they are feared among the masses, have quickly become a hazing ritual of certain mercenary groups, being a sort of "commitment to the life", opposed to the common sacrifice of flesh, one is required to sacrifice their previous life, being transormed and living with that form for the rest of their life, as a reminder.

The only other group that was interested in the genetic modification was, ironically enough, the church of the holy flame. in secret, their most covetted members of the clergy would commune, to attempt to create a being more holy than others, create a being that is akin to the ancients, who left their technology for the dideans to find.

The church attempted to combine the DNA of a common Minecraftian with that of an Ender-Man, desperate to find the secrets of this advanced race that they had worshipped for years. To the church's detriment, every experiment has failed horribly. Frustrated and unknowing of how to hide their failure, the failed experiments would get shunned to the sewers. Amalgamates who roam the underground, their names wiped from the record, and their minds so destroyed by the gene mixing that they are nothing but pools of carbon based flesh, living to no purpose but survive off of the excriment and trash of the dideans.

The Blue Flame Medical Group, aware of the implications of having monsters in the sewers feeding off of trash and excriment, developed a suit to bring autonomy back to the amalgamates. The armor was called "Prototyped Genetic Savior Armor", Progogen for short, and was created in order to reverse the untimely death that the mostly unwilling had been cast into. Bright masks mixed with flashy armor made these protogens popular among the Dideans, creating a fashion trend of similar armatures that protected more than just the face, giving the protogens not only a new life, but a purpose.

CHAPTER 4- CYBERNETIC ENHANCEMENTS

Due to the nature of bio-engineering, most people dont typically think about the need of cybernetic enhancements, if they are considering changing themselves at all. But for those in the killing business, it's standard that you would want to have every edge over your target that you can. In recent years, more and more mercenaries have found themselves to be directred towards the realm of cybernetic enhancements.

Paired with the seemingly limitless nature of said genetic enhancements, cybernetic parts replace the previously required sensitivity of certain parts of gene editing, filling in any of the weaknesses that gene editing would provide, and in certain circumstances, replaces the required dicipline that would typically be required for certain fighting styles, allowing more direct and savage takedowns.

Recently, people searching out cybernetic enhancements go for a vast array of things, but when paired with bio-engineering, some of the more popular edits that people have been able to provide to themselves and others are:

  • Bioluminescence
  • -It has been a popular trend among beast folk and man alike to add Bioluminescence somewhere on their body, wether that is in their internal organs, in their blood, on their skin / fur / scales, or in their eyes, for mercenaries, it adds an extra level of intimidation, if you are able to be seen by anyone and everyone around you, even in the pitchest of black areas. The main downsides of this are the physical cost in terms of energy, making the user need to consume more nutrients in order to power those parts of themselves. In this case, a solution some have found is to make it so that its toggleable, some opting into only enabling the feature when they want to intimidate others.

  • Mechanical Limbs
  • -Due to the advancements of medical technology, most mechanical limbs are indestinguishable from the average limb, giving users the ability to live as others would, even after tragedy strikes. However, some opt into intentionally displaying limbs with other appendiges at the end, being a replaceable hand, or fingers, or otherwise, to assist them with specialized work. Its not uncommon to see a mechanic have a replacement forearm with a blowtorch attachment in one of their fingers, and eyes that automatically dim to accommodate for the bright light, or to see an accountant who replaced the fingers on their hand with smaller limbs, being able to press every key in a word at once, which drastically increases their typing speed, or even King's Guards, having stun-gun technology in a detatchable wrist attachment, allowing them to neutralize perpetrators quickly. The possibilities are truly endless.

  • Inner-eye display
  • Many people, common man or not, have opted into a more modern enhancement, sponsored by the medical group, that adds a Heads Up Display, or HUD, that they can connect to their brain stem, that displays certain information to the end user, including but not limited to:

-)Statuses of life-dependant organs, like the heart, lungs, liver, stomach

-)Hunger level, including weight, height, blood oxygen level, and list of current illnesses, if known.

    -)Heartrate

-)Damage to any bones, muscles, ligaments, etc.

Most users will only need hunger and weight, and features that enable notifications of sickness, but some have found themselves going above and beyond, installing software into their HUD that allows them to scan people for an internal contact list, and label their names above their heads, or highlight certain people through walls by connecting to a local network.

  • Neural-Link
  • Not only being good for every-day connections for taking notes to personal devicves, and connecting with the Heads Up Display that is available through the Inner-Eye Display, the Neural link grants the user a greater control over their greater function, alerting the end user if there is any major issues with their body, and allowing them to mentally link to another user, called whispering, from great distances accross Minecraftia. This also works wonders with the Heads Up Display, due to the ability that it has for users who cannot or choose not to speak to putt their words directly into text, giving the Heads Up Display its own chat box for a customizeable distance. This not only allows people to speak in their native tounge and be understood, but it also allows the user to connect to personal devices, and activate or deactivate them from a distance.

DRAWBACKS

Because of the nature of cybernetic enhancements, its possible to enduce a sort of virus into the neural system, if the right tools are posessed. Groups of people, known coloquially as "slashers", have worked both for and against larger corporations, finding backdoors to large programs, essentially being able to control other people through the use of these backdoors. These types of Slashers are incredibly strong when it comes to assassinations, due to the nature of their un-traceability. But some slashers exist only to slash the other slashers, finding the backdoors just so that they can alert the codebase and patch them as soon as possible.

Public perception of cybernetic enhancements is still neutral to poor, due to how dangerous having these pieces of tech could possibly be.
